Rotab Dates are soft and sweet and arguably the best dates in the world. These dates are darker in color and sweeter in taste compared to Medjul dates. These dates are popular in Iran. Bam is a UN recognized historic area/city in Iran that is world famous for two things, the ancient city (over 2000 years old) and their Rotab dates.
Rutab dates are referred to as "Mazafati khorma" in Iran. The "Shahani" dates are dark brown to black in color. They have a very soft, meaty and elongated body. Our Shahani Rutabs are ripened just to perfection and not over ripened. They are recommended to be refrigerated to keep their freshness.
