Like pomegranates, persimmons are in season in the fall and early winter. Persimmons are known as Khormah-loo (date-plum).There are two kinds of persimmons, the Fuyu and Hachiya.. Fuyu persimmons can be eaten when firm, like an apple, and look shorter and flatter than the Hachiya. Hachiya persimmons are more round in shape and have a pointed end like a acorn, however they are delicious when ripe and fully soft. Our Signature Persimmons taste sweet with a syrupy texture similar to a banana. They can be used in both sweet dishes for breakfast or dessert, or paired with cheese and greens for a salad or appetizer.
