Coins are used in both Sofreh Aghd and Sofresh Haft Sin in Iranian culture. Coins for both spread represent prosperity and it is supposed to bring wealth to the newly wed life or in the case of Haft Sin to the life of the family. Persians tend to use them also for the actual ritual Aghd ceremony to throw them and/or shower them on the bride and groom again wishing their life to be showered with wealth and prosperity.
