Persian Basket is proud to offer Persian Sweet lemons known as "limu shirin" in Iran. This fruit is very popular in markets and homes in Iran due to its high vitamin C content and surprisingly sweet flavor despite extremely high Vitamin C content! From the outside, the Persian Sweet lemon looks like a Meyer lemon: the fat, round citrus fruit has slightly yellowish-green skin that gives way to a warm yellow glow at maturity. Within, however, the greenish flesh exudes the aroma of roses and the taste is sweet with a flavor more like that of an orange. The rind is very thin, and when rubbed the oils emit a sweet smell. Persian Sweet lemons have several seeds. Within a short period after cutting or biting into the flesh, the juice can take on a bitter flavor, similar to grapefruit juice.
This product is very popular and NOT ALWAYS IN SEASON! Grab yourself some before it's all gone.
**This perishable fruit will be mailed in a Styrofoam/Aluminum Pack containing industrial gel ice to assure safe shipping and arrival of the product. Minimum order is 15 lemons and maximum count per order is 35 to fit properly in the refrigerated container**
